Who are we?

We are a 501c3 Non Profit group that is preserving the Ohio River & Western Railroad's past while also sharing the history of the railroad and how it helped shape the communities it served.

The Friends of the Ohio River & Western was formed in 2023 with the intention of organizing focused efforts on sharing the history and preserving the remaining artifacts of the OR&W.

The Friends began meeting via monthly Zoom calls in 2023 and held their first in person meetup in May of the same year.

We achieved 501c3 Non Profit Status in 2025. We have several active projects that are being funded via donations and club dues. If you would like to help fund our effort, to one of our projects, or are interested in becoming a member, please reach out to us.

Combine 29 has been tarped and is ready to be moved once we find a suitable workspace to begin the preservation!
